Mayor Lin stated, the Minzhi Parking Lot was the fifth renovation for the "Parking Lot Re-design Projects", and it had been "servicing" the public for 16 years. Mayor Lin pointed out, the City Government launched the "Parking Lot Re-design Projects" last year, many renovating constructions were completed one after another, providing a safer and more comfortable parking area. For example, the Fuhou Parking Lot used to be old, dirty, dark, damaged, and like an "Oven" during summer; however, after the renovation, the parking environment is comparable to the parking lot in shopping mall.

Hsinchu City Government Department of transportation stated, Minzhi Academy Parking Lot opened to public in 2,000 with 610 parking spaces for cars, and 800 for scooters; because of the major attractions and shopping mall nearby, it is one of the most used public parking lot. The parking lot was old, dark, and damaged with water leaking issues; the renovating items included water drainage system, painting, lighting devices, public restrooms, management office, unused spaces, also upgrading parking soft and hardware; the construction used "floor by floor" method in order to reduce the inconvenience caused to the public during the construction period.
