Hsinchu City will introduce Gorilla Technology Group's 4G smart video analytical technology, the system can recognize and track vehicles at a high-speed, creating a safety network without blind spots. Hsinchu City Deputy Mayor Shen Huihong stated, through the use of smart technology, it can provide added safety for frontline police officers and the residents of Hsinchu City, She highlighted "public safety is always the first priority".
Hsinchu City Government together with Gorilla Technology hosted the "Hsinchu City Smart Safety Innovation Project" contract signing ceremony today (10), Deputy Mayor Shen Huihong and Gorilla Technology Group Chairman Dr. Spincer Koh signed the cooperation agreement together, Division Chief – Yang Zhiqing from the Ministry of Economic Affairs Industrial Development Bureau, many City Councilors attended the ceremony.
Mayor Lin Chih-chien stated, Hsinchu City will cooperate with Gorilla Technology Group, through a cloud-based data analytical system, integrating with a vehicle recognition system, predict the movement of the vehicle, at the same time using real-time video analysis to provide warnings, allowing the police to stop them at the earliest of time and avoiding accidents, moreover to deter crime, giving assurance to public safety.
Deputy Mayor Shen Huihong stated, under limited people power and resources, thoroughly make use of technology can increase public safety without adding pressure to the police officers. She also stated, in introducing innovation, Hsinchu City holds an open attitude and will make continuous improvements, hoping to cooperate with smart technologies to build and secure a city.
The Hsinchu City Police Bureau stated, the system will be installed at important public places, including the Science Park, schools, important roads and tourist hotspots, combining the technology speedily tracking suspect movements, not only increase the efficiency of current infrastructures and build a blind spot free network; it also shortens the time to locate suspects, reduce labor expenses and increase work efficiency.
