"Northern Taiwan Leader's Conference" Hosting in Hsinchu City for the First Time, Promoting Smart and Green Industry Development

Northern Taiwan Development Commission will host its first Hsinchu City meeting on January 9 after establishment 13 years ago, the commission is made up of leaders from 8 Northern Taiwan Cities and Counties. Related Central Government Agencies, Legislative Yuan, and Headmasters of Northern Taiwan Universities and Colleges were also invited to participate in the "13th Northern Taiwan Development Commission Leader's Conference and Results Presentation", declaring the building of the Northern Taiwan green energy environment. Mayor Lin Chih-chien stated, this meeting is of a larger scale comparing to the Taoyuan Hsinchu and Miaoli's National Health Insurance Meeting held on January 3rd, which successfully obtained an increase of $400 million in funding; the meeting held today by the 8 cities' and counties' leaders will together promote the development of the smart and green industries, achieving a "nuclear free families in 2025" goal by the Central Government.
 
The main governance city this time is Hsinchu City, Mayor Lin stated, Inter-city and county cooperation is the base behind the sustainable development of Northern Taiwan, Last year (2016), through the Northern Taiwan Cross-Platform Team, a "stock check" has been done for the green energy industrial resources for Northern Taiwan, furthermore launch smart and green energy policies; Mayor Lin will accompany all Northern Taiwan Governments to cooperate with the Central Government, pro-actively seeking resources from the Central Government, apart from continuously constructing the smart and green energy environment, the team will also assist the industries to re-develop and seek international cooperation, integrating the systems to expand overseas markets, achieving and working towards the nuclear free goal of the Central Government in 2025.
 
Mayor Lin also stated, in response to the green technology innovation industry policies, Hsinchu City will actively make use of the benefits of the local industries, combining production, education, and innovation powers; already started the launch of "Environmental Protection Photovoltaics – Hsinchu Shine" project, including the establishment of "Photovoltaics Policy Promotion Team", drawing "Hsinchu City Existing Buildings' Rooftop Solar Panel Setup Draft", at the same time launching "Small to Medium Enterprises Foundation Loans and Tactical Loans Project", "Hsinchu City Managed Property Solar Power System Setup Project", encouraging private enterprises to use solar power, turning Hsinchu City into a shining green energy city.
 
Furthermore, Hsinchu City Government will also cooperate with Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Fund of Taiwan, and Taiwan Business Bank to launch "Hsinchu City Business Starting Loan" project, focusing on solar power businesses with the highest loaning limit of $12 million, the best in the country; Hsinchu City is also the first in Northern Taiwan to establish a personal loaning system with a maximum loan amount of $600 thousand, announcing support for Hsinchu City small to medium enterprises and the green industry.
 
The Hsinchu City Department of Urban Development stated, Hsinchu City, Yilan County, Keelung City, New Taipei City, Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, and Miaoli County formed the "Northern Taiwan Development Commission", this year is the 13th year, hosting the "13th Northern Taiwan Development Commission Leader's Conference and Results Presentation" at the Ambassador Hotel; the meeting not only invited the eight leaders, it also invited the Central Government's Green Energy Related Departments, Legislative Yuan, Northern Taiwan Universities and College's Headmasters, and green energy industry and association representatives, together delivering Official, Educational, and innovational cooperation, leading Norther Taiwan towards smart, green, low-carbon emission developments, writing a new chapter for a sustainable Northern Taiwan.
